Probably the best novel about chicken fighting ever written, this cult classic is surprisingly engaging. Willeford\'s deadpan and at times exhaustive style creates a world that\'s so real you feel you could step into it. The narrator is a bit of a dickhead, but you can\'t help but be drawn along with him as he works towards cockfighting glory.
