André Louis Moreau, a law student, vows to fight against the aristocracy when his friend, Philippe, is killed in a duel with the Marquis de la Tour. André joins the Revolution and becomes a leader. Subsequently, he discovers that his real father is the hated Marquis de la Tour and his mother is a countess, both of whom, with his sweetheart, Aline, are at risk from the angry revolutionary mobs.
