This is a 1959 Gold Medal of the \"spicy\" variety, meaning every female character is a nymphomaniac. \"Matthew Blood\" is a joint pseudonym of Davis Dresser (aka Brett Halliday, Peter Field etc.) and Ryerson Johnson, who wrote some Doc Savage books. It\'s got a cool, unusual opening, and a lot of descriptions of driving around Manhattan (which may be meant to take up space, but are interesting historically) but I gave up halfway through, not caring about or believing any of the characters. It\'s decently written, in fact highly readable, but I felt that the narrative took a dive.
