Holy Crap, Google Edition’s Uploader Finds ISBNs!
Not really planning to sell this one as an ebook anyway, but among my first test cases for the (slightly-different-from-LSI) Booksurge/CreateSpace specs of a few summers ago was The Argus Pheasant.
You’ll note an extremely low-pressure sales pitch in the description there, an excess of pink for what is not the true Munsey template, and I believe the guy who wanted the proof from me at a festival really had to push to get it.
Anyway, the file wasn’t called 1596547057_txt.pdf or anything, just argus.pdf. And, it was included in the big batch I’m uploading to Google Editions as we speak.
Google’s new uploader just searched page 2 of argus.pdf, and knows that it’s a printed book. They can probably pull the metadata now as well.
That’s really freaking cool, and now they’re going to get another 200 or so books from me, for blowing away Amazon when it comes to content additions, and just kinda finding stuff for ya.
Teh ebook battle, she joined in earnest.
/If it matters, LSI/Cspace/Cspace Enterprise/Replica specs are all pretty much identical, these days. Though, Cspace regular can print anything, and I mean anything.
