About This Book

First published in 1920, The Eye of Zeitoon is an adventure novel by Talbot Mundy (1879–1940) set in the Armenian highlands during World War I. Four adventurers — Americans and British — find themselves caught up in the Armenian resistance against Ottoman massacres, joining the defense of the mountain fortress of Zeitoon against Turkish forces. Mundy wrote the novel as the Armenian Genocide was still ongoing, making it one of the earliest English-language novels to address the subject. The Eye of Zeitoon is in the public domain and freely available through Project Gutenberg.
